Essar's Cambay exploration soon

 Essar Oil (EOL), which formally got the Cambay basin in Gujarat (CB-ON-3) from the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) through a handing-over-agreement on June 30, now plans to acquire 3D seismic data by this November and commence exploratory drilling after identifying oil prospects.

 In a presentation to officials of the ministry of petroleum and natural gas in Mumbai on August 7, Essar officials said the initial study in the exploration and production site indicates multiple hydrocarbon prospects at various stratigraphic levels, including those in Unawa area.
