Essar Steel opens service centre in Chennai

Essar Steel, the country’s leading steel manufacturer, is setting up service centres in the country, each with an investement of Rs 75 crore. These centres would cater to its clients in auto and white goods sectors.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating one such centre here recently, Vikram Amin, executive director (sales and marketing), Essar Steel, said two more centres would come up each in Pune and the National Capital Region soon.

The centres would offer value-added services on basic hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel products to the customers, said Ravi Singh, V-P (service centre and business development).

Speaking about the Chennai centre, Singh said the centre would cater to its customers like Temple Steel and other auto majors like Hyundai, Ashok Leyland, TVS and Wheels India. The plant has already got an order worth Rs 25-30 crore.
