Estimates of Reliance Orissa gas find doubled

Reliance Industries (RIL) holds 2.3 trillion cubic feet (TCF) gas reserves in the field off the Orissa coast - more than double the earlier estimates.

Gas reserve certifier Gaffney, Cline and Associates (GCA) put the original gas for the six discoveries in RIL's NEC-25 block  off east coast at 2.3 TCF.

Niko Resources, RIL's block partner, had hired GCA to complete the review of the NEC-25 discoveries and potential resources associated with undrilled seismic leads.
