Singapore-based eSys Technology has decided to relocate its worldwide business to Chandigarh. The company plans to pump in Rs 100 crore for the integrated facility on six acres at the Rajiv Gandhi Information Technology Park. |
According to Vikas Goel, chairman and group managing director of eSys Technologies, the Chandigarh centre will be an integrated manufacturing, logistics, R&D and services hub and functional global headquarters. |
The first phase will become operational by early 2008. In the next two years, about 2,000 IT professionals will be hired and by 2011 about 5,000 professionals will be recruited. |
"I believe that Chandigarh has the best infrastructure and clean environment and many of my employees in Singapore are keen on working in Chandigarh with eSys," Vikas Goel said. |
The Chandigarh centre will have a software development centre, training centre for professionals, off shore development centre for SAP and Oracle and a global BPO. eSys has already invested Rs 250 crore for the manufacturing facility in Nalagarh (about 50 km from Chandigarh in Himachal Pradesh) which will produce 1.25 million computers annually. The facility will be commissioned in three months. |
eSys plans to set up 30 warehouses in India. The company plans to increase revenues from the US, Germany, Korea, China, India and Russia. |
