Eureka Forbes Institute of Environment has launched its first knowledge centre on the quality of drinking water "� WaterX "� at Chennai. The next knowledge centre is expected to be launched in Western India. |
Addressing the mediapersons, S K Palekar, secretary, EFIE, said: "We will offer services such as water quality testing for a fee. We will also hold seminars on water-related subjects, water purity map of Chennai, and provide information and demonstration on various water purification technologies besides providing information and guidance on rainwater harvesting." |
Testing of water for chemicals involving 13 parameters would cost Rs 216 while testing for bacteriological water involving three parameters would cost Rs 216. Both the tests as a package would cost around Rs 378. |
As an inaugural package, water quality testing would be offered free of cost to apartments and housing colonies having a common water supply storage. |
