Eureka Forbes is hoping to double its turnover from security solutions in Kolkata. R Ganguly, associate vice-president of Eureka Forbes, said the company had launched security solutions in Kolkata last year and had grown by around 250 per cent to Rs 65 lakh achieved in 2003-04. |
Some of Eureka Forbes' clients in Kolkata are Thomas Cook, Indian Institute of Management Calcutta and Howrah station. Ganguly said the company had also approached Viswa Bharati University for providing security solutions, after the recent fiasco in which Rabindranath Tagore's Nobel medallion was stolen. |
Eureka Forbes had visited the site. The university was expected to float a tender soon, he said. |
The size of security solutions market in Kolkata, factoring in domestic demand, was estimated to be Rs 50 crore. |
Ganguly said with the people of Kolkata getting increasingly conscious of the importance of security today, the sale of security systems, especially burglar alarms and anti-intrusion systems, had risen in the past three months. |
"This can be attributed to the rising crime rate especially burglaries and house break-ins which have increased in the past few months" he said. |
Once, the company achieved significant growth in Kolkata, Eureka Forbes would be penetrating deeper into West Bengal. The company had recently security solutions in Guwahati. |
