Everest Ind to set up plant in Uttarakhand

Building materials supplier Everest Industries today said it will set up a manufacturing unit at Roorkee in Uttaranchal with an investment of Rs 75 crore.
 
"This plant will have manufacturing capacity of 50,000 tonnes of fibre cement boards and 100,000 tonnes of roofing products per annum," company's vice-president (marketing) Pankaj Banga said.
 
The plant would make roofing sheets, boards, light-gauge steel frames to cater to both domestic and international markets.
 
"Besides handling domestic projects, this plant will also cater to demands from neighbouring countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh," he said.
 
The firm has manufacturing facilities in Kymore (Madhya Pradesh), Kolkata, Coimbatore and Nashik.
 
The company, which aims to grow at 25 per cent, posted a 20 per cent growth in turnover at Rs 303 crore in 2006-07 against Rs 254 crore in the previous fiscal.
