Chennai-based education and learning solutions provider, Everonn Systems, has firmed up plans to position itself in the big league in Kerala for its online education programmes.

The company at present has tie-ups with around eight colleges in Kerala where students are taught communication, placement and technical skills.

Speaking with Business Standard from Chennai, K Radhakrishnan, assistant general manager (Education Initiatives), Everonn Systems, said the company at present taught students from 7-8 colleges in Kerala, making it a 15 per cent of the company's activities across the country.

"We conduct live classes for the students from our studios based in Chennai. We are working on setting up studios in Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, besides other centres across south India soon. May be, a year down the line, Everonn will have studios in all these centres."

The tie-up with colleges ensures that the infrastructure, such as a VSAT dish for receiving live classes online and LCD projectors, is taken care of by the educational institutions themselves. The classes are handled by an expert faculty based at Everonn studios in Chennai.

For the colleges, these would be a one-time investment. Infrastructure would involve Rs 1.5 crore investment for the company and the cost of allied activities borne by the firm changes from time to time as they are recurring expenses.

Radhakrishnan said with more than 10 courses on offer, Everonn caters to the learning needs of quite a number of students and in a matter of just two-and-a-half years since inception, the education provider has seen more than 2,500 students passing out from Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The firm's activities in Kerala colleges started only last year, he said.

The company's Virtual and Tech Enabled Learning Solutions (ViTELS) offers curriculum and job-oriented courses to colleges and schools under its own brand Zebra Kross.

Everonn Systems covers topics like training for entrance examinations such as IIT, JEE, AIEEE, MBA, CA, English skills' enhancement course, certified programme in networking, software testing course and bio informatics, according to Radhakrishnana.
