Ex-Dell India country head Anandan joins Microsoft India as MD

Filling in the vacuum created by the high-profile exit of Neelam Dhawan -- who quit Microsoft India to join Hewlett Packard (India) in June this year, Microsoft today announced the appointment of Rajan Anandan -- former Dell India head (Dell India VP and Country GM) as its new managing director. Anandan will steer its sales marketing and services business in India, and will join Microsoft on September 1, and report to Ravi Venkatesan, Chairman of Microsoft India.

Anandan had been working with Dell since 2003 in various roles across Dell International Services including a stint as the Executive Assistant to Michael Dell, Chairman, Dell Computers. In his role as country head for the company in India, Dell India business grew from $250 million in to over $800 million when he quit.

 

On his appointment with Microsoft, Anandan said, "Microsoft as a company has shaped the evolution of the global computing industry over the past 30 years, and is poised to play a leading role in every major new technology arena over the coming decade. I am thrilled to be joining the Microsoft India team at such an exciting time.”

Meanwhile, Microsoft India has also announced Jaspreet Bindra as the head of its Entertainment and Devices Division in India. Bindra, who had been with Microsoft India since 2005, will transition from his current role of Country Manager, Online Services group.
