Ex IIM-B director elected new ISEC Chairman

K R S Murthy, former Director of the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore, has been elected Chairman of the Board of Governors of the city-based Institute for Social and Economic Change (ISEC).

Murthy would serve as the Chairman of the Board of Governors of ISEC, an All India Institute for Inter-disciplinary Research and Training in Social Sciences established in 1972, for a two-year period from 2010.

He succeeds S L Rao, who was the Chairman for two terms from 2004 to 2009, an ISEC statement said. Earlier this month, ten members had been elected to the Board of Governors of ISEC.

 

Murthy holds a Master's degree from Sloan School of Management, MIT and a Doctorate in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.

He was Vice-Chairman of the Indian Council for Technical Education, Member of Disinvestment Commission, Chairman of the Board of Information Technology Education Standards of Karnataka.

He has served as member of Board of Governing Councils of several institutions and published extensively, the statement said.
