Exports slipped 11% to $6.16 billion in November 2005 as compared to $6.95 billion in November 2004. Imports increased 8.67% to $9.9 billion in the period under review from $9.11 billion in November 2004. Exports during the first eight months stood at $57.06 billion as against $49.16 billion in the corresponding period of the last fiscal. According to data posted on the website of the ministry of commerce, trade deficit for April-November 2005 shot up nearly 70% to $27.643 billion from $16.34 billion between April-November 2004-05. |
