FACT-RCF Building Products Limited (FRBL), a joint venture of FACT and Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers (RCF), Mumbai, is entering the gypsum-based building materials market.
Sham Lal Goyal, chairman and managing director of FACT, and RG Rajan, chairman and managing of RCF, who is also the chairman of FRBL, jointly launched the marketing initiatives at the Kochi division of FACT today.
The JV has set up a Rs 150-crore plant on the FACT campus at Ambalamedu, near here and is manufacturing gypsum-based building materials with Australian technology.
FACT has a stock of about 6 million tonne gypsum, which is a residual product in the process of making fetrilisers. This is being widely used in cement manufacturing. When the plant goes on full stream, the joint venture can provide housing solutions.
