A delegation of the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (Fapcci) on Wednesday appealed to Governor ESL Narasimhan to protect trade, commerce and industry from violence and vandalism.
Industry body president K Harishchandra Prasad and other members apprised the Governor of the worsening industrial climate in the state due to bandhs.
The delegation expressed concern over vandal acts and said the state would find it difficult to attract investments from India and abroad. People are feeling insecure due to recent incidents, it said.
The frequent disturbances are disrupting the supply chain and production, they said, seeking security to industries and to their operations by deploying police, according to a release.
There is a fear of flight of industry and investments. Industry, trade and commerce operate efficiently in an atmosphere of peace and cordiality. They do not subscribe to any political ideology, religious or regional sentiments, the release added.
