Faridabad Unit Of Yamaha May Roll Out 4-Strokes

Yamaha Motor India may commence production of 4-stroke motorcycles at its Faridabad plant, which currently produces only 2-stroke bikes. This is aimed at increasing the capacity utilisation of the plant, which can produce 1 lakh bikes per annum.

Yamaha also owns a larger plant at Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh, with a capacity of 3 lakh units a year. The company is planning to make modifications in the engine plant at Faridabad to allow production of the less polluting and more fuel-efficient 4-stroke bikes.

RR Prasad, associate vice-president (marketing), Yamaha, said,
