The feasibility study for the Bangalore-Chennai Industrial Corridor is complete while a similar study for the Mumbai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor has been commissioned. Besides, a committee has been formed to conduct a feasibility study for the Delhi-Kolkata Rail Corridor, announced Amitabh Kant, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation.
He was speaking at the conference on India-Japan global partnership here on Monday.
He also informed the gathering that the implementation of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corporation was on track and the first phase will be completed in 2019.
The corridor plans to come up along Chennai, Sriperumbudur, Ranipet, Chittoor, Bangarupalem, Palamaner, Bangarpet, Hoskote and Bangalore. The department of industrial policy and promotion (DIPP) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) are presently preparing a comprehensive plan for the Chennai-Bangalore Industrial Corridor.
