Federal Bank Q1 profit jumps two fold to Rs 136 cr

Federal Bank today reported two-fold jump in net profit to Rs 136.38 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, over the same period last year.     

Total income rose to Rs 1,021.79 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 841.33 crore in the same quarter in the previous fiscal, the bank said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE).     

Shares of Federal Bank were trading at Rs 244.30 on the BSE, up 2.69 per cent from previous close.
