Car maker Fiat India would launch more models from the Ranjangaon plant near Pune, which is a part of 50:50 joint venture between Tata Motors and Fiat, during the current calender year, a company official said.
Fiat India Chief Executive Officer Rajeev Kapoor said that the company would launch two hatchbacks, Bravo and GrandePunto, this year.
Launching the Linea sedan here today, he said that the company was targetting a sales figure of 24,000 units during the year in the domestic market. The export target was 3,000 units.
Fiat had already launched Linea in Turkey and Brazil. The car would be soon be manufactured in China and Russia.
Kapoor said that Fiat had been able to keep the price of the car low since the per cent of localisation was 50 per cent.
By December 2009, the extent of localisation would go up to 80 per cent, he said.
The other models of Fiat India in the market were Palio and Fiat 500.
