"Through this partnership, Ficci Alliance for Consumer Care (FACC) is focusing on the critical aspect of endeavouring to install a mechanism of voluntary self-regulation for the first time in India, through adoption of a voluntary code of conduct and facilitate the creation of customer-oriented organisational culture," Ficci Secretary General Amit Mitra said in a statement.
The adoption of the code of conduct among leading organisations in India would lead to a radical movement resulting in the development of an environment of trust in the market place by promoting customer centric business practices, the chamber said.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect has been signed at Arlington in USA by Mitra and the council of BBB CEO Steven Cole.
FACC was set up with the initiative of Department of Consumer Affairs to facilitate efforts of businesses in India to leverage their brand image through enhancement of customer culture within the organisation.
