Foreign institutional investors today offloaded equities worth Rs 1,037.28 crore amid the benchmark Sensex losing over 230 points.
FIIs invested in shares worth Rs 2,546.92 crore and shed equities worth Rs 3,584.20 crore, resulting in a net sale of Rs 1,037.28 crore, as per the provisional data available on the BSE.
On the other hand, domestic institutional investors bought shares valued Rs 492.56 crore.
Among other categories, proprietors sold scrips worth Rs 3.97 crore and non-resident entities shed equities valued Rs 1.09 crore.
Meanwhile, brokers invested in shares worth Rs 179.25 crore on behalf of their clients and retailer investors.
The Bombay Stock Exchange index settled the day at 14,662.61 points, down 238.15 points from its last close.
