A flash fire that occurred at around 3 am on Thursday at one of the units of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL)'s DTA refinery in Jamnagar injured around eight workers.
 
The injured were rushed to Jamnagar Civil Hospital, according to police sources.
 
Production was not hit due to the fire, as the unit was under planned maintenance shutdown.

"There was an unfortunate flash fire at one of the units under a planned maintenance shutdown in our DTA refinery at Jamnagar.  All operations of the refinery continue to be normal," RIL said in an official statement on Thursday.

"While the Reliance fire brigade extinguished the fire swiftly, some contract workers were injured. They are being provided necessary medical treatment," it further stated.
