First Carlyle buys 11 mn shares of Infotech for Rs 211 cr

Shares of the company today closed 2.62% higher at Rs 188.05 apiece on the BSE

First Carlyle Ventures Mauritius (FCVM), a global private equity firm belonging to the Carlyle Group, today acquired 11 million shares of engineering services provider Infotech Enterprises for Rs 211 crore through open market transactions.

FCVM bought 76,98,817 shares of Infotech Enterprises on the NSE and also purchased 34,00,599 shares of the Hyderabad-based company on the BSE, according to bulk information available with the stock exchanges.

The shares were purchased at Rs 190 apiece, valuing the deal to Rs 211 crore, it added.

Meanwhile, Kotak India Focus Fund, a shareholder of Infotech Enterprises, offloaded 15 lakh shares of the company for Rs 28.50 crore.

 

Kotak India Focus Fund held 2,935,098 shares, or 2.63 per cent, stake in Infotech Enterprises as of March quarter.

Shares of the company today closed 2.62 per cent higher at Rs 188.05 apiece on the BSE.
