FitnessOne, a Chennai-based firm which specialises in fitness solutions, on Thursday opened F1@Home which will install and maintain fitness equipment at the residence of users.

This is the fourth such outlet of the company in Bangalore. Apart from these four, the company owns four F1@Home outlets in Chennai and one in Coimbatore.

The company plans to increase the number of such outlets to 12 by the yearend by foraying into Hyderabad and Tirupur.

The company has also launched an all-women's fitness centre called Pink in Chennai. The privately-held company is seeing growth in South India and plans to expand its footprint in the region.

FitnessOne also operates similar centres in the corporate sector where professionals can utilise the equipment installed on campuses. "We have 11 such centres and we intend to open more. We are in talks with many firms," FitnessOne MD Vivek Anand said.

FitnessOne is also eyeing the retail sector for growth. "We are tying up with leading large format stores to sell some of the branded fitness equipment all over the country," Anand added.

It sells branded fitness equipment such as Precor and Propel. Treadmills, bikes, ellipticals and multigym equipment are sold under the twin brands.

"The demand for fitness equipment is increasing as some users prefer to work out at home. We are targetting such customers through the retail operations," he said.
