FMCG firms seek tax rationalisation

 This was stated by Piruz Khambatta, chairman and managing director of Rasna at the Confederation of Indian Industry organized National FMCG Conclave on Tuesday. Excise duty constitutes about 15 per cent, sales tax around 10-15 per cent and octroi contributes 2-3 per cent (variable from state to state) to the total tax structure.
