Under pressure from various new launches, American car maker Ford has cut prices of its two products- Figo and Figo Aspire- by up to 7 per cent and 13 per cent, respectively with immediate effect. Both these vehicles have been launched in last one year. In March this year, the company had trimmed prices of its SUV EcoSport by up to Rs 1,12,300, just three days after Maruti launched its first compact SUV Brezza.

"With the realignment of prices, Figo and Aspire are even more compelling for customers," said Anurag Mehrotra, executive director (Marketing, Sales and Service) at Ford India. Interestingly, the two top players- Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai- have announced price hikes of up to Rs 20,000 across products.

Under the new pricing, Ford Aspire's Titanium (+) variant will be available at Rs 6,80,150 (ex-showroom Delhi, Petrol) as compared to previous price of Rs 7,45,150 and Rs 7,89, 850 (ex-showroom Delhi, diesel) against earlier price of Rs 8,54,850. The Figo's top-end variants will now cost Rs 628,700 (ex-showroom Delhi, petrol) against previous price of Rs 6',58,700 and Rs 7,17,750 (ex-showroom Delhi, diesel) compared to Rs 7,67,750 earlier. Other variants have also seen a price revision. Ford is the eighth largest player in the domestic passenger vehicle market with a market share of about three per cent.
