Ford India aims at doubling sales by '06

Ford India, subsidiary of Ford Motor Company, is targeting to double its car sales by December, 2006 and invest $ 75 million by March, next year.

"We are very optimistic about the new mid-sized Sedan Ford Fiesta and hope that we would be able to cross 50,000 units sales by the end of 2006 calender year," V Sivaramakrishnan, vice-president (marketing) of Ford India, said.

"Currently, the major volume is contributed by Ikon, but Fiesta is also expected to draw level," he added.
