Ford India has reported a 237 per cent jump in sales in the first half of the current fiscal (April-September period) with total sales of 47,902 vehicles, against 14,209 units sold in the corresponding period last year.
In addition, Ford enjoyed another good sales in September-month with 8,380 unit sales recorded, and this was up 146 per cent, compared to the 3,405 vehicles reported last year in 2009, Ford India Vice President (Sales) N Raja told reporters in a press conference here today.
The surge was driven by sustained demand for the record- selling Figo since its launch in March, he said, adding the Ford is expected to cross the 50,000 production milestone coinciding with the start of the festive season.
