Ford launches refreshed EcoSport at Rs 6.79 lakh

Ford India today launched the refreshed variant of its compact sports utility vehicle at a price range of Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.44 lakh (ex showroom, Delhi). On an average, the new range is costlier by 0.50 per cent to the previous ones.

The new EcoSport comes in three engine options. The petrol variant powered by 1.5 litre engine is priced between Rs 6.79 lakh and Rs 9.93 lakh, while the other petrol option powered by Ford's 1 litre EcoBoost engine is available at a range of Rs 8.53 lakh and Rs 9.89 lakh. The diesel variant powered by 1.5 litre engine with improved power comes in price range of Rs 7.98 lakh to Rs 10.44 lakh.

 

EcoSport was first launched in mid-2013 and the company has already sold about 100,000 units in domestic market and exported close to 100,000 units to 45 countries.

Anurag Mehrotra, Executive Director, Marketing, Sales and Service said the mini utility vehicle segment is growing at a rate of 10 per cent and Ford wanted to refresh the vehicle to offer a more stylish and contemporary product. He said dealers have some units of the previous EcoSport but it will be sold as festive demand catches pace.
