Ford unveils Endeavour in AP

 Claiming it to be the most affordable SUV in the country, Vinay K Piparsania, the vice-president (external affairs) of Ford India said it would offer quality, luxury and safety in a comfortable and flexible 7-seater. Priced at Rs 12.9 lakh, it targets those looking for either a global SUV or high-end car, he said.

 Built at Ford India plant at Maraimalai Nagar near Chennai, the Ford Endeavour has 20 per cent localisation.

 It sports a 2.5 litre turbocharged and inter-cooled diesel engine, anti-lock breaking systems (ABS), dual AC and dual airbags, dedicated ents for all thee rows with independent controls and tiered seating, highest ground clearance and largest wheel base in its category.

 It also has power windows, power and tilt steering and comes in with the dimensions of 4958 mm length, 1805 mm width, 1835 mm height, 210 mm ground clearance, and 2860 mm wheel base.

 The Ford executive said the company was planning to sell 150 units a month across the country. With a global SUV in its stable, the Ford eyes a major share of the emerging market for sports utility vehicles in the country.
