Fortis Healthcare CEO Vishal Bali steps down

However, according to company statement, Bali will stay with Fortis till end of March 2014 to enable smooth transition

Vishal Bali, group CEO of Fortis Healthcare Ltd, one of the largest hospital chains in the country, is stepping down to pursue his own entrepreneurial venture.
 
According to the company statement, Bali will stay with the company till end of March 2014 to enable a smooth transition.
 
Vishal Bali, said, “After having spent nearly two and a half decades in the sector, I now feel the desire to do something new and entrepreneurial in healthcare.” Prior to joining Fortis, Bali was the CEO of Wockhardt Hospitals Group, where he had spent around 19 years. Fortis had acquired nine hospitals from Wockhardt in 2009.
 
 
Malvinder Singh, Executive Chairman and Shivinder Singh, Executive Vice Chairman, Fortis Healthcare Limited, said, “Vishal  has served the company with commitment and passion. We truly appreciate all his efforts and respect his desire to 
pursue newer goals. We wish him all success in his future endeavours.”    
 
Going forward, Bali’s responsibilities will be shared by Shivinder Singh and Aditya Vij who is Fortis CEO-India, said the statement.
