Fortis Healthcare Ltd, the country’s second largest hospital chain, has recorded a four-fold increase in its net profit for the December quarter.
Revenues from the newly- added network hospitals and growing income from select specialties helped Fortis post a consolidated net profit of Rs 21.7 crore during the quarter, up 330 per cent from Rs 5.1 crore recorded during the corresponding quarter last year.
The consolidated sales grew 44 per cent to Rs 232.1 crore as against Rs 161 crore during the comparable three-month period, the company stated. On a standalone basis, Fortis posted net profit of Rs 12.4 crore against net loss of Rs 1.67 crore in the same period last year.
