Fortis Healthcare Q4 net up 41% at Rs 42 cr

Total income rose to Rs 1,279 cr in Q4FY12 from Rs 421 cr in the same period last year

Fortis Healthcare today reported 41.34% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 41.54 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2012.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 29.39 crore in the same period last year, Fortis Healthcare said in a filing to the BSE.

Total income rose to Rs 1,279 crore in January-March quarter from Rs 421.18 crore in the same period last year.

For the year ended March 31, 2012, the consolidated net profit slipped, however, to Rs 72.22 crore from Rs 124.33 crore in FY11.

On the standalone basis, Fortis' net profit increased to Rs 184.98 crore in the January-March quarter of this year from Rs 33.82 crore in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, in a separate filing the company the announced appointment of Pradeep Ratilal Raniga and Joji Sekhon Gill as additional directors of the company.

The board also granted an in principal approval for the future listing of the company's clinical establishment division, on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Ltd (SGX-ST) and it will be seeking shareholder approval for it.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 104.25, up 2.91% on the BSE at 11:30 am.
