Driven by strong growth across hospitals in its network, Fortis Healthcare today reported a 59 per cent jump in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December 31, 2010, to Rs 34.5 crore. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 21.74 crore for the third quarter of the previous financial year, Fortis Healthcare said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
“The company’s financial performance in the last quarter has been outstanding and the robust results bear testimony to the ever-growing equity of Fortis brand,” said Fortis Healthcare Managing Director Shivinder Mohan Singh.
The consolidated total income of the company also grew to Rs 371.43 crore during the quarter, from Rs 232.48 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. During this quarter, Fortis commissioned three new hospitals in New Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.
“Opening three greenfield hospitals in a single quarter is a landmark in the healthcare space,” Singh added.
