Fortis to raise Rs 1,000 cr via rights issue

Hospital chain Fortis Healthcare today said it will raise Rs 1,000 crore through a rights issue in June this year.

"We are going for the rights issue to raise capital for our growth through the organic and inorganic routes," Fortis Healthcare Chief Financial Officer Yogesh Kumar Sareen told reporters here.

The company received board approval for the rights issue of equity shares with warrants in December last year and has finalised the plan to launch it in June this year.

Sareen said the the issue will not be with a discounted price.
