Fox Star Studios increases presence in Tamil movies

Fox Star Studios would partner in - Mundasupatti and V Chitram - with Thirukumaran Entertainment, owned by Tamil Film producer C V Kumar

Fox Star Studios, the production and distribution joint venture of Twentieth Century Fox, has increased its presence in Tamil movie industry by tieing up with Thirukumaran Entertainment, for two Tamil film projects.

According to an announcement, Fox Star Studios would partner in two projects - Mundasupatti and V Chitram - with Thirukumaran Entertainment, owned by Tamil Film producer C V Kumar. Both the films are expected to be released in 2014.

Vijay Singh, CEO, Fox Star Studios said, “We are focused on increasing our presence in the Tamil film industry, as we have done in the Hindi film industry. While we have extended our successful association in Tamil with A R Murugadoss to Hindi as well, we are also increasing our footprint in the Tamil industry by partnering with C V Kumar’s Thirukumaran Entertainment."
 

Commenting on the partnership, C V Kumar said, "I work very hard on every film and it is good to work with a partner who has an international expertise in developing, marketing and distributing films."

Fox Star Studios, in tie up0 with director-cum-producer A R Murugadoss, has earlier worked on two movies, "Engaeyum Eppothum" in the year 2011 and "Vathikuchi" in 2013.

Thirukumaran Entertainment, which produced Tamil films "Attakathi", "Pizza" and "Soodhu Kavvum", made its debut in the Tamil film industry in 2010, a year before Fox Star Studios entered the industry. The Studio has two other projects Raja Rani slated for release later this year and Cukkoo, in collaboration with The Next Big Film Productions, in Tamil.
