French design software company Dassault Systems would focus on the mining and energy sector in the eastern part of the country, an official of the company said.
"Our focus will be on mining projects in the east and hydro-power projects in the north-east," managing director Chandan Chowdhury said. He said the company had already set up an office in Kolkata, where the mining experts and other employees would be based. The company provides three-dimensional design solutions to industries such as manufacturing, urban planning, consumer goods, automotive and infrastructure.
He was addressing a seminar on global IT-industry organised by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade in association with Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council in the city on Saturday.
