France Tele arm buys GTL's IT unit

Telecom infrastructure major GTL has sold off its IT enterprise and management business unit to France Telecom's subsidiary, Orange Business Services, for an undisclosed sum.

GTL is now planning to hive off its application management, BPO and KPO processes valued at around Rs 250 crore and has initiated discussions with global majors.

Addressing a press conference here today, GTL Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Tirodkar said, "The hiving off of the unit is under our efforts to focus on network services for telecom carriers.
