Freescale sets up R&D centre in Hyderabad

Freescale Semiconductor, a New York Stock Exchange-listed provider of embedded communications processors for networking equipment, opened its research and development (R&D) centre in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The facility in the special economic zone, Gachibowli, is expected to deliver solutions that enhance Freescale’s QorIQ and AMP (advanced multiprocessing) platform for applications including data centre, security appliances, mobile wireless infrastructure and small business networking.

“Freescale’s talent and resources in India play an important role in our global networking strategy and the Hyderabad centre further reinforces our commitment to Freescale India,” Lisa Su, senior vice-president and general manager, stated in a press release. In India, Freescale is headquartered in Noida with offices in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
