French industry body keen on Railways tie-up

French industry body, Moselle, is keen to rope in Indian Railways for collaborating with Indian auto component manufacturers.

Moselle, one of the 83 departments in France, is organising a three-day event dedicated to transportation system—Euro India Transportation Systems-- between November 17-19, 2009 at at Metz, in eastern France.

Phillipe Leclarc, chairman, Proximum Group and a representative of Moselle, at an interactive session organised by the Bengal National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed representatives of Moselle would meet officials of Indian Railways to invite them in the fair.

The organisers of the fair are also in touch with several railway component manufactures, including some from the eastern part of the country, for participation in the event.

 

“We plan to invite Indian Railways to be a part of this trade show, apart from this, we also plan to get railway component manufacturers from the eastern region of India,” Leclerc said.

About 300 Indian companies are expected to participate in the fair, and about 190 have already registered with Moselle.

According to Leclarc, about 15 semi-government companies linked to the automotive industry, several shipbuilding firms, logistics companies and about 60 other automotive and auto component manufacturers are expected to take part in the event.

The annual Moselle transportation fair was being held in China between 2006-2008. However, European entrepreneurs being keen to develop business links with Indian companies, this year it will be held in India.

The show is expected to bring together representatives from Indian and European companies across sectors like automotive aerospace, rail, trucks, shipbuilding, transport and logistics.
