From Westside to Pantaloons, retail chains gain from consumer uptick in Q3

Like their counterparts in food services, some of the country’s top retail chains have reported strong same-store sales growth (SSG) for the three months ended December 2018. At 8-20 per cent, which is the SSG range for most of the key players in Q3, such as Pantaloons, Big Bazaar, Shoppers Stop, Westside, V-Mart, Central and Brand Factory, have reported their strongest sales growth figures in four quarters, said analysts. SSG is sales growth for stores one year and above.
