Within three months, Fujitsu India will open its concept stores in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Amritsar and Shimla. |
Moreover, the company is in the process of formulating a comprehensive plan to give a major push to its business in the Indian market and is planning to open eight more concept stores and take the service centre tally to 24 by the end of August from seven. The company has opened one such concept store in Chandigarh. |
Also, the company is aiming to be among the top 10 vendors in the country by the end of this financial year. It has recently signed up Salora International as its second national distributor. With this partnership, the company will enhance its reach from 16 cities to 28 cities. |
The head of the PC division of Fujitsu India, Ramanjit Singh, said: "We are late entrants in the market and at this point we are addressing the mid and high end market with our notebooks while the desktop range is targeted more at the commercial segment." |
"We are aiming to capture 3 per cent of the notebook market share this fiscal and this year, our target is to garner 1 per cent of the desktop market," added Singh. The company has a 0.8 per cent share in the commercial notebook segment. It has also tied up with Bajaj Finance. |
He said, "Annually there is demand of 600,000 commercial notebooks and 5000,000 desktops in India. Moreover, the demand is growing with IT sector expanding in big way. So, India is a big market for us." |
Also, on track with its retail initiatives, the principal recently opened a concept store in Chandigarh and is set to open its fifth store in Lucknow, Banglore, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Pune and Delhi are among the other cities where Fujitsu plans to open its concept stores before September 2006. |
Apart from expanding its channel presence in the country and launching new products, the new plan will also focus on improving its service support infrastructure. The Company would open 17 more service centre to provide backend support. |
Giving details, Singh said, "Currently we have 54 partners and this year we intend to increase this number to 150. Along with this, we will also offer our channel partners a lot of rebate and incentive schemes this year, to keep them motivated." |
The Company is also hosting channel meets across eleven Indian cities-Delhi, Mumbai, Banglore, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ahmedabad and Indore. |

He added that by the end of this financial year, the total number of concept store in India would go upto 12. Currently they have 4. He further added the company is also contemplating on setting up our own manufacturing unit. |
