For international dairy brands, India has been an attractive destination, but challenges related to supply chain and distribution networks have ensured it is also the graveyard for quite a few. Take Danone, the Euro 24-billion French food giant, which failed to scale up despite being in the market for over a decade-and-a-half. 

The over Rs 300 billion Future Group knows this market is not for the faint-hearted. But it has quite a lot going for it. With 22 million square feet of retail space in more than 250 cities across the country, it can offer a very competent launch pad
