Other retailers are also evalauting the situation on whether to follow suit or not

Future Group today said it is removing the packs of Maggi noodles from its stores such as Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, Nilgiris, Easyday.

“In the interest of consumer sentiment and concerns we have taken Maggi noodles off the shelves from all our stores for the time being. We will wait for more clarity from authorities to take any further course of action," said a Future group spokesperson.

The issue came to the fore after UP's food and drug administration found high levels of lead content in Maggi and filed a case. The Delhi government said it may file a case against Nestle, the maker of Maggi, after its labs found lead contents above permissible levels.

State governments of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Haryana, Maharashtra and West Bengal deployed officials to randomly collect Maggi samples of different batches and dates for testing the safety of its content.

Other retailers are also evalauting whether to remove maggi off their shelves, a source said.
