The Kishore Biyani-promoted Future Group, in association with Mumbai-based Sankalp Retail Value Stores, the Indian master franchisee of the US discount retail chain MyDollarStore, on Thursday rolled out a new shop-in-shop format "� Imported Bazaar "� in Hyderabad.

Announcing the launch of two Imported Bazaars, with a carpet area of 1,000 sq ft each within the Ameerpet and Abids Big Bazaars in Hyderabad, Ghatak said the idea was to offer aspirational international brands to the growing Indian middle class. | |||||||||
He said the company intended to take the new concept to all the Big Bazaars and Food Bazaars across the country and they would have more than 150 Imported Bazaars by the end of the next financial year with revenues of Rs 200 crore. | |||||||||
"Besides, we will be scaling up our standalone My DollarStore chain to 100 in a couple of months from 48 now," he added. The company expects to garner Rs 300 crore from its standalone format by 2010. Its revenues from MyDollarStores currently stand at Rs 100 crore. | |||||||||
Imported Bazaar offers international brands such as Kraft, Unilever, General Mills, Kellogg's, Ferrero, Tony & Guy, Quickburys and P&G in the food, confectionery, health and beauty, general merchandise, toys and fashion categories with prices ranging between Rs 49 and Rs 699. | |||||||||
