Gail to set up LPG plants in Uzbekistan

Gail India along with Uzbek government owned natural gas major Uzbekneftegaz (UNG) will set up LPG plants of 1 lakh tonne per annum capacity in western parts of Uzbekistan.

According to an official release issued by Gail to the BSE today,
the estimated capital investment in each LPG plant will be $ 50-60 million. These multiple gas-based LPG plants will produce LPG predominantly for the domestic market of Uzbekistan.

The two companies had signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent visit to Uzbekistan.

Under the MoC, signed by the Indian Ambassador in Uzbekistan on behalf of Gail and Abdusalom Azizov, chairman of UNG, the two companies will jointly pursue gas sector projects covering exploration and production, gas processing, production of petrochemicals as well as training.
