Gandhimathi Appliances Q1 net at Rs 1.8 cr

City-headquartered Gandhimathi Appliances Ltd, manufacturers of the 'Butterfly' brand, today reported a net profit of Rs 1.78 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2009.     

The company reported a net profit of Rs 1.11 crore during the corresponding period last year, the firm said in a filing in the Bombay Stock Exchange.     

During the quarter ended March 31, 2009, total income rose to Rs 33.18 crore from Rs 24.17 crore in the corresponding period last year.
