Marginal drop in Gateway's net
 
Container logistics company Gateway Distriparks has reported a marginal drop in net profit at Rs 17.01 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 against Rs 17.69 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005. Income from operations grew by 17.14 per cent up at Rs 40.58 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 34.64 crore for the corresponding quarter of previous year.
 
Allcargo net profit declines 5%
 
Logistics service provider Allcargo Global Logistics has reported 4.86 per cent decline in net profit at Rs 13.7 crore for the quarted ended December 31, 2006 against Rs 14.4 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2005 on account of a higher provision for deferred tax for the quarter under review. Income from operations grew 26.8 per cent at Rs 87.27 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 68.83 crore for the quarter December 31, 2005.
 
Ashapura Minechem bottom line up 55%
 
Ashapura Minechem, the fifth largest producer and exporter of bentonite and one of the largest producers of bauxite in the world, has reported 55 per cent increase in net profit in the quarter ended December 06 at Rs 31.63 crore against Rs 20.48 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal.
 
Net sales also jumped by 25 per cent to Rs 194.44 crore in the period under consideration compared with Rs 156.39 crore in the same period last year. For the nine months ended December 2006, the flagship company of the group reported around 100 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 69.78 crore as compared to Rs 35.59 crore in the same period last year.
 
During the period under consideration, the company saw a net income of Rs 583.14 crore compared with Rs 463.86 crore in the first nine month period of the last year.
