Hyderabad-based Gati, a distribution and supply chain solutions provider, recorded a 52.6 per cent drop in net profit at Rs 3.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2008, compared with Rs 6.8 crore in the corresponding period last year.
Though revenues for the quarter increased 5.37 per cent to Rs 146.61 crore (Rs 139.13 crore), expenditure was up 7.42 per cent to Rs 138.20 crore (Rs 128.65 crore) due to increase in operating expenses, wages, administrative costs, repairs & maintenance costs and depreciation. Earnings per share (basic) declined to Re 0.47 (Re 0.96) for the quarter.
