Notwithstanding media reports that it is keen to find a strategic partner for its consumer appliances unit but is unable to get one, GE has said its consumer appliances unit is not up for sale.
"It's our unit and we are not selling," GE India President and CEO Tejpreet Singh Chopra said.
Some recent media reports have said that GE desperately wants to get rid of its appliances unit globally and is looking for a strategic partner.
When asked about liquidity crunch, he said: "As of now, there is no liquidity crunch but the next two quarters will hold the key. The government has taken some steps in the right direction and let's see what happens."
