GE Shipping FY06 net up 14%

Great Eastern Shipping (GE Shipping) today reported a 14% increase in consolitated net profit at Rs 957.42 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006 when compared with Rs 836.79 crore in FY05.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 2,846.54 crore from Rs 2,202.32 crore in FY05.

The board has declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per share, the release added.
