General Motors India today reported 5.19% decline in sales in April, 2011 at 10,050 as compared to the same month last year.
The company had recorded sales of 10,601 units in April last year, General Motors India Vice-President P Balendran said.
During April, 2011 the company sold 3,889 units of small car Spark, 2,447 units of hatchback Beat, 157 units of premium hatchback UVA, 162 units of entry level sedan Aveo, 376 units of mid-sized sedan Optra and 939 units of luxury sedan Cruze.
The company also sold 1,908 units of multi-purpose vehicle Tavera and 172 units of sports utility vehicle Captiva, Balendran said.
GM India is currently trying to resolve a strike by a section of its workers at the Halol plant in Gujarat that has been on since March 16, 2011.
